Responsible Service of Gaming Policy
Bribie Island Hotel Gaming is offered as only part of our overall venue entertainment. We are concerned however, if a patron involves themselves in gaming to the extent that it may become harmful, and as such we believe that the implementation of a sound policy on Responsible Service of Gaming is important not only to the Hotel and its patrons, but to the community as a whole. The Management of Bribie Island Hotel makes a commmitment to responsibly operate gaming machines in a safe environment for all patrons and the local community, and at all times protect the interests of all players. Bribie Island Hotel will conduct all aspects of its business in a professional and responsible manner and will uphold its commitment to the provision of responsible service of gaming. Gaming machines will be maintained in premium condition for members' and unplayable machines will be clearly marked. We will ensure that management and all staff are familiar with and abide by all relevant government legislation. Bribie Island Hotel will maintain its commitment to staff training and development in all aspects of Hotel operations with particular regard to those areas that affect, either directly or indirectly, our patrons and their families such as the Responsible Service of Gaming. Staff will be continually assisted and encouraged to update and further their training in these areas. Bribie Island Hotel employees are not councillors, however any patron experiencing difficulty in coping with a gambling problem will be given confidential assistance in seeking professional councilling through one of the following organisations:
Bribie Island Hotel supports a policy of self-
Bribie Island Hotel will continue to prohibit minors from the gaming and bar areas. Bribie Island Hotel will not lend money for the purpose of gambling.
Any visitor causing damage to any poker machine is liable for costs or repairs for the machine. Any visitor found to be cheating or manipulating poker machines will be removed from the premises and is liable to charges under the Machine Gaming Act. Machine Manager's may determine that one gaming machine may only be played by a person at the same time. Should a patron have a concern or query they should contact a member of management who will endeavour to assist to their best discretion. If an issue is not addressed or resolved, the patron concerned has the option of contacting QOGR in writing. This policy will be adopted by all staff and management in the best interest of all patrons.
Responsible Serving of Alcohol
The Bribie Island Hotel has a policy to serve patrons in a responsible, friendly and professional manner. Our staff are on hand to assist patrons in their decision to drink in moderation and where appropriate avoid the dilemmas of combined drinking and driving. Staff will not serve alcohol to any person under the age of 18 years, disorderly, nor any patron to the point of intoxication at any time.
